U.S. – Kuwait relations:
The United States and Kuwait established diplomatic and economic relations in 1961 at the time when Kuwait gained full independence from the United Kingdom. Historically speaking, the two countries also had ties based on shared values, democratic traditions, and institutions. Kuwait is considered an important partner in U.S. counterterrorism efforts. It also provides assistance in regards to diplomacy and intelligence to fight terrorism and block financing of terrorist groups.
